If your only experience of astrology has been the so-called 'predictions' in newspapers and magazines, remember that these general forecasts, based solely on the sun sign, are hit-and-miss affairs at best. Even interpretations done by astrologers from an individual birth chart may be unsatisfactory, as they depend on the competence of the astrologer. But what astrology can do well is to reflect the unique characteristics and potentials that the subject of each birth chart has brought into existence at the time of birth. By the time adulthood is reached these characteristics remain valid, even though the individual may have learned to control, modify or conceal them, or they may have been suppressed or even over-exaggerated as a result of coping with life's experiences. Interestingly we are all victims, to a greater or lesser extent, of our parents' failure to help us to develop our own individuality. They are not to be blamed for this because they thought they were protecting us by insisting that we conform to 'normal' practices. Normal, that is, for the time and place in which they lived. We, in our turn, will inflict similar standards upon our own children unless we take a great deal of trouble to appreciate their individuality and to actively encourage it. The result of our training during the formative years, not only from parents but also from teachers or other relatives, almost always inhibits us from expressing our true selves, or even being aware of who we are. We range from the slightly inhibited to psychological cripples, in cases of parental neglect or cruelty.

Astrology is not just a method of predicting the future but an accurate way of revealing the personality as shown by a birth chart. It follows that the interpretation of this can help us to understand the different facets of our personality so that we can overcome our limitations and exploit our strengths. Indeed our personalities are very complex; some of us can handle the great problems in our lives better than the small ones while some can be described as being their own worst enemy. Yet nearly all of us harm ourselves in some way simply because we are not aware of the manner in which we habitually react to situations. I will do more than just list the meanings of all the major factors in your chart like most Astrologers, instead synthesising the information into meaningful reports that are virtually free of astrological jargon and which cover key areas of your life. This analysis is individual to you alone, because it uses detailed factors from your birth chart which are calculated from the exact moment and place of birth. One of the important factors assessed is your Ascending sign, which is just as important as your Sun Sign, along with the Mid-heaven, and the sign placement of the Moon. Basically, you will be a mixture of the characteristics common to these signs though there are many other factors to consider, such as the sign positions of all the other planets, the angular relationships between them, and their positions within the astrological houses. To construct a birth chart properly an astrologer needs to know the date, time and place of birth. Of course not everyone can supply the exact time and this limits the information available, but there is still enough left to be helpful, especially as you can often guess the missing information as you begin to know yourself better. Compatibility Report

Traditional Sun Sign astrology describes 78 possible relationship types between the 12 signs. It is maintained that in general you will show the greatest affinity for people born with the same element, be it earth, fire, air or water. Similarly you will get on well with the two signs either side of your sun sign and the one opposite it (i.e. Taurus with Aries, Gemini or Scorpio). There are no set rules though it is true there are degrees of compatibility and we seem to be attracted to the same personality types and combinations over and over again. My compatibility analysis utilises ‘synastry’ which compares two people’s chart aspects point by point. The resulting profile will identify possible areas of conflict and suggest ways of encouraging greater harmony.
